Trust Purpose

1) To advance the education of the public by the provision of a lending library service for the benefit of residents in Central Swindon North Parish and its

Environs and by providing community based services from co-located community centres where the libraries operate.

(2) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Central Swindon North & the surrounding communities, without distinction of age, gender, race, political, religious or other opinions, by associating when appropriate together the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and literacy, and to provide facilities, in the interests of social welfare, for education, recreation and other leisure time occupation for the inhabitants with the objects of improving their conditions of life.


Trust Activities

Central North Swindon Parish Community Library & Leisure Trust manages the Central Swindon North Parish Library Service on behalf of the Parish.


The Trust manages Even Swindon Library, Moredon & Rodbourne Cheney Library, Penhill Library, and Pinetrees Library, being responsible for service delivery, financial management, and all other matters relating to day-to-day operations.


The Parish Library Service operations are funded by an annual grant from Central Swindon North Parish.

The Trust additionally has high level management responsibility for St Mark's Tennis Centre located at St Marks Recreation Ground in Swindon.


The Trust manages the sinking fund for the tennis centre to ensure the tennis facilities are maintained, and works with the service delivery contractor, National Tennis Association, to ensure that the facility meets Lawn Tennis Association standards, and that our community has access to high quality tennis provision.


St Marks Tennis Centre is fully funded by income generated at the centre.
